The cheque images and related MICR data are then sent electronically to the Bank of First Deposit (BOFD). The BOFD will then send all transit items to their intermediary (clearing house) and retain images within their cheque archive.

PeriCAPTURE also features a rapid data entry interface. This feature will enable you to electronically encode cheques. In a post-Cheque 21 world, this feature will be important since cheques will no longer have to be physically encoded.

Instead, your organisations cheque images and associated MICR data, including the monetary amount, can be transmitted and presented to your clearing house, electronically.
